  What is wrong with men?

  They always want to compete

  To win the best prize

  It’s not for the weak

  You can’t run it in a week

  As I hear the crowds

  It comes in colour

  It’s no longer black and white

  The picture in front

  *****

  Internet

  Technology reigns

  Emails are now the new phase

  Connecting us all

  *****

  Mobile Phone

  Communicating

  It is a device we need

  When we’re on the go

  *****

  MP3

  Don’t you just love it?

  Having music in your ears

  Taking away fears

  *****

  Store

  We often use it

  Without it we would be lost

  Passing the time by

  *****

  It is made in France

  Out of both red and white grapes

  Then it’s bottled too

  *****

  Beer

  It is cheap to buy

  It is only made from hops

  It has a nice taste

  *****

  Monkey

  Swinging from the trees

  Longing to be back at home

  Always with a smile

  *****

  Birthday

  We celebrate it

  Why do we do that? You ask

  So we can have fun

  *****

  Venus

  Is it a goddess?

  One that looks down on us all

  Resembles the moon

  *****

  Mars

  It is red like fire

  With an orangey glow too

  And it shows anger

  *****

  Earth

  It is our planet

  Water and land surround it

  Life is all around

  *****

  Walk

  A means of transport

  It can be a sort of sport

  Strolling on two legs

  *****

  Winter

  It is cold at night

  The snow and ice are resting

  Like fluffy layers

  *****

  Orange

  Its round like a ball

  It comes in different sizes

  And is a drink too

  *****

  War

  A bloody battle

  People dying every where

  That occurs world wide

  *****

  Witch

  Hocus pocus bang

  The spell that she does create

  On the ones she hates

  *****

  Ghost

  A floating figure

  Watching always down on you

  Trying not to scare

  *****

  Glass

  Clear and reflective

  Object that we really need

  When we are thirsty

  *****

  Submarine

  It is long and wide

  A vessel under the seas

  Always out of sight

  *****

  Moon

  The silvery night sky

  Reflecting down on the earth

  As we look at it

  *****

  Sausages

  Sizzle, sizzle bang

  Is the sound they often make?

  Sizzling in a pan

  *****

  Sailor

  They sail with the ship

  Steering through the oceans storms

  Keeping it afloat

  *****

  Soldier

  Their country is proud

  Into the battle they go forth

  With guns and machines

  *****

  Mad

  You may not think it

  But other people see it

  Crazy it may seem

  *****

  Clown

  A white shinny face

  He is the children’s favourite

  Wearing a red nose

  *****

  King

  You may often ask

  Why is that man wearing that?

  A crown on his head

  *****

  Daisy

  It is beautiful

  The little flower below

  Growing in the grass

  *****

  Lilies

  It’s white and pretty

  Every woman adores them

  The succulent smell

  *****

  Sheep

  They are white and black

  Often wears a woolly coat

  In the farmers field

  *****

  Beach

  Looking out to sea

  How I long to sit on it

  The white golden sand

  *****

  Window

  Can you look through it?

  The glass that reflects outside

  Showing people things

  *****

  Door

  Why won’t it open?

  I must try to get inside

  Forcing it open

  Teacher

  It’s so important

  Their job is to educate

  A class full of kids

  *****

  Secretary

  Tapping and clicking

  The machine that is in front

  Typing up letters

  *****

  Hot Air Balloon

  It is big and round

  Floating high above the ground

  Never makes a sound

  *****

  Gloves

  They protect our hands

  From all sorts of dirty jobs

  That we often find

  *****

  One Hundred

  You often count it

  The number that comes in threes

  Figures that matter
